Privacy Policy

Bedlock is an Android app that locks the apps you choose from your bedtime until your wake-up time. It is operated by EpowerX Labs Private Limited ("EpowerX", "we", "us"). This policy explains what the app and the website sleep.regainapp.ai handle.

The short version: Bedlock needs no account. Which apps you lock, when you open them, and your bedtime settings are processed on your phone and are not sent to us. We use limited product analytics, crash reports and purchase records to run and improve the app. We do not show ads and we do not sell data.

Data we do not collect

• We do not require an account, login, email or phone number to use the app.
• We do not collect your name, contacts, photos, messages, precise location or browsing history.
• We do not transmit the names or package names of the apps you lock, your app-usage history, screen content, or anything you type in other apps.
• We do not read the content of your notifications.
• We do not receive your payment-card, UPI or bank details. Google Play processes payments.
• We do not show ads, use advertising trackers, or sell data to anyone.

Information processed on your phone

Your bedtime and wake-up time, the list of apps to lock, your streak, the morning summary and your settings are stored on your phone. They are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data.

Android permissions and how we use them

• Usage access: during the lock, Bedlock checks which app is in the foreground and compares it with your list. It also shows you how late you used the phone the night before. This check runs on your phone; the results are not transmitted or shared.
• Display over other apps: used to show the full-screen lock over a locked app.
• Alarms and reminders (exact alarms): used to start the lock at bedtime, end it at your wake-up time, and show the 30 and 15 minute warnings.
• Notifications: used for bedtime warnings, the ongoing "locked until" notice and the morning summary.
• Notification access (optional): if you turn it on, notifications from locked apps are kept quiet during the lock and counted for your morning summary. Only the app name and the count are used, on your phone. Calls, SMS and apps you have not locked still notify you.
• Device administrator (optional): if you turn on uninstall protection, removing the app needs an extra step. You can switch it off in Android settings at any time.
• Battery and background settings: the app may ask you to allow it to run in the background so the lock starts reliably. These settings do not send data to us.
• App visibility: the app lists apps that have a launcher icon so you can choose what to lock. It does not request the QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission.

Bedlock does not use the Android Accessibility service.

Product analytics

The app sends limited product-usage events, for example onboarding steps completed, permissions granted, whether a lock started and ended, streak changes, emergency-unlock use and purchase outcomes. Events can include the number of apps locked (not their names), your bedtime and wake-up time setting, app version, Android version, device model, locale, timestamp and a pseudonymous identifier based on Android's app-scoped ANDROID_ID. They are sent over HTTPS to self-hosted analytics (Jitsu and OpenPanel) that we operate. The request exposes your IP address, which our analytics can use to derive approximate city, region and country. We use these events for product analysis and improvement, not for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Crash reports

We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash and "app not responding" reports. Crashlytics can process stack traces, app state, device and operating-system details, timestamps, a Crashlytics installation ID and a Firebase installation ID. Google processes this data as our service provider. See Firebase privacy and security information.

Purchases

Bedlock is sold as a subscription through Google Play. Google processes the payment. RevenueCat helps us deliver, validate and restore purchases and processes purchase history, product, price and currency, country, transaction identifiers and a pseudonymous customer ID. We store purchase events and their identifiers on our servers for support, accounting and fraud prevention, and limited purchase notifications (customer ID, product, amount, currency and country) are sent to our internal Slack.

Support

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and use it only to help you.

Website

sleep.regainapp.ai is a static website. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Like any web server, ours receives your IP address and browser details to deliver the page.

How we use and share information

We use the information above to run Bedlock, deliver purchases, fix problems, keep the service secure and improve it. It is processed by the providers named in this policy (Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, Slack and our email provider) for those purposes only. We may disclose information when the law requires it or to protect users, our rights or the service. We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.

Retention and deletion

Data on your phone is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data. Firebase states that crash data is retained for 90 days. Our analytics and purchase records have no fixed expiry; we keep them for product analysis, support, security, accounting and legal obligations. To ask us to delete analytics or purchase records, email help@regainapp.ai with your Google Play order number or any identifier shown in the app. Because there is no account, we may not be able to find records without one.

Security

Data sent by the app is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we collect little and restrict access to the systems that process it.

Children

Bedlock is meant for people aged 18 and over and is not directed to children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will post the new version on this page and update the date above.
